The hotel is good, but rooms are getting a bit tired when it comes to the carpets and furniture. The beds and linen are good and spotless though. Good value for money for this area. Convenient location. Could hear the neigbour snore at night. Had a room with view on the Sun Yat-sen memorial. Have srayed here before and will stay again.

The hotel seems designed for hosting conference other than tourist oriented. The location as named next to tube station, but in fact quite far away.
The hotel corridor was full of smoking. In the room, it is a stone away from residential buildings. There is little privacy if opens curtains.
As listed amenities, swimming pool and tennis courts were not available.

We reached the Guangdong Hotel (Sun Yat-Sen) and were greeted with their friendly reception. The check-in was swift and easy. The room is spacious and clean, and we were thrilled to be in the room facing the Sun Yat-San Memorial Hall ( see Picture). Every staff is very helpful, and I must specially mention one of the receptionists, Wang Jin, who went the extra mile to assist us in booking an airport transfer for us. We had difficulty communicating with the transport company and approached her for assistance. We wanted to give her a tip for the inconvenience we caused but she rejected the tip with a genuine smile. Overall, we are delighted and have no regrets about booking the Guangdong Hotel. By the way, opposite the hotel, there is a famous Chinese Cantonese Restaurant, Guangzhou Chinese Restaurant ( see picture); she serves excellent dim Sum and Roast goose.

I extended my stay twice! I don’t understand why this great hotel has not had more reviews from foreign tourists. Location, cleanliness, service and professionalism is absolutely outstanding. I am now staying in another hotel in Shanghai and I miss the following list of things that I took for granted when I was in the Guangdong Hotel: English speaking staff, English TV channel, fruit platter, coffee sachets, large clean room, large bathroom, the meticulously cleaned room, the ambiance of the foyer area and above all the helpful ladies at the concierge desk! I am from Australia and this is my first trip to China. The Guangdong Hotel staff was a great introduction for me to China. They helped me download a navigation app and they taught me how to use the Chinese metro system. Thank you to the concierge ladies especially Kitty!

It is our first time staying in this hotel. So far we are impressed by the friendly and professional services provided by the hotel staff at the front desk and the house keeping team. We are very happy that we chose to stay here for our trip. It also has a good location for our needs.
